Baret LaVida

Artist Corner@BaretLaVida

Born in the late 1970s, my life has been intricately intertwined with both art and science due to my parents' influence. My mother, passionate about antiquities and art, and my father, a lover of mathematics and astronomy , instilled in me a profound appreciation for these disciplines. My academic training in engineering developed in tandem with my interest in music art, which gave way to my fascination with digital photography in 2002. In 2010, with my first reflex camera in hand, photography became my primary artistic focus. In 2014, I discovered generative art through my brother. However, it wasn't until 2021 that I began to study this discipline in depth, culminating in the publication of my first generative artworks in 2022. My goal as an artist is to explore the intimate relationship between science and art, using generative art as a medium for communication. My work reflects my two great passions and my desire to generate meaningful dialogues at their intersection.

GS
Guido Di Salle

Guido Di Salle

Artist Corner@Guidodisalle

Guido Di Salle is a Canadian mixed media artist working across photography, digital art, painting, and collage. Though best known for his photographs, his practice moves fluidly between disciplines, unified by one rule: make iconic imagery of cool people, places and things. Women have been at the center of Di Salle's life and work from the beginning. He grew up in a house full of the 1980s fashion magazines his mother and sisters left laying around, absorbing the glossy excess of that era: supermodels, neon, analog grain. Those pages became his first visual education. A now-famous photo taken by his father circa 1983 shows a young Guido holding a Polaroid camera, an omen of what was to come. Years later, a Minolta gifted by his father would kick start his passion for creating images. In between, he spent over two decades as one of Canada's top hairdressers, a career built entirely around women, working in television, editorial, and fashion, studying beauty up close in every sense. That fluency shows in his instinct for gesture, styling, and the exact moment a subject drops their guard. His art continues that lifelong dialogue. Candid, unguarded, and unapologetically bold, his images are often called provocative, sometimes controversial. He rejects the sanitized language of "the female form"; his subjects are not forms, they are people caught in moments of intimacy, confidence, and provocation. Shot with hard on-camera flash and raw, snapshot immediacy, his photographs read like pages torn from the magazines of his youth, filtered through a modern lens. That same sensibility carries into his collage and painted work, where fashion iconography is cut, layered, and reassembled. The result is an aesthetic that is instantly recognizable. Nostalgic yet fresh, polished yet real. His editorial work has appeared in GQ Italia, Playboy, and independent magazines known for high curatorial standards, including Cake and C-Heads. In 2021, Di Salle brought his work on-chain and became one of the defining figures of digital-native photography, ranking among the top ten highest-grossing photographers in web3 with millions in primary and secondary sales. A self-described provocateur, he has championed hundreds of fellow artists while building one of the most recognized artist brands in the space. A truly iconic image, he says, is remembered for life.

Her photography has earned 1st place in the 2022 Minimalist Photography Awards, work with National Geographic, and features in PetaPixel and WhiteWall Magazine. In 2026 she exhibited at The Canal Street Show in New York and in the DIGITALISM section of British Art Fair at Saatchi Gallery, London. My creative journey began with skateboarding and photography over 20 years ago. More recently, I became fascinated with algorithmic art after discovering Art Blocks in 2021. In 2025, I created a blockchain art-focused podcast called Long Form Conversations. My artistic approach tends to incorporate the use of algorithms to create digital and physical works, which includes intersections with photography and relief-printing techniques. I am thrilled to be back in the West Texas desert and presenting a diverse selection of works this year. I look forward to speaking with you about my art while in Marfa, Texas!

Bio I am Zahra Jafari, a photographer and multidisciplinary visual artist working across self-portraiture, digital collage, mixed media, glitch, AI, and animation. My artistic practice is rooted in photography, which remains the foundation of how I see and tell stories. Through my work, I explore identity, femininity, vulnerability, transformation, and the many versions of ourselves that exist between reality and dreams. By combining personal imagery with symbolism, surrealism, and references to classical art, I create intimate, dreamlike worlds that reflect my inner landscape. I am particularly drawn to reimagining familiar visual narratives through a contemporary, personal lens, bridging the past and the present to explore emotions and express what words cannot fully capture.
